The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System gives you a large, flat surface that’s built to handle it all. Measuring 59" long x 56" wide x 1-3/4" tall, it easily supports cargo boxes, camping gear, or recovery tools for a weekend away. The wide platform layout makes securing loads simple and balanced, no matter the shape or size.
Rough roads and off-road trails demand a roof rack that won’t quit. This system’s aluminum frame is powder coated and reinforced with nylon connectors for durability and scuff resistance. The Backbone mounting system creates a stable foundation by installing directly to the roof using rivnuts, giving the platform a rock-solid connection designed for off-road use and tested for Australian conditions. Once installed, it’s ready to take on heavy loads and harsh environments without flex or rattle.
Wind noise can make long drives tiring, especially with bulky gear up top. The low-profile design of the Pioneer Platform helps cut down on drag and noise while keeping the rack tight to the roofline. It even includes a detachable wind fairing that smooths airflow over the front edge. The result is a cleaner drive to the campsite or down the highway with less sound coming from above.
Adventure setups change from trip to trip, and this rack is ready for whatever you throw at it. Integrated channels in the planks and frame accept a huge range of Rhino-Rack accessories—everything from awnings and light brackets to shovel holders, spare tire carriers, and more. Add accessory bars (RR33AP – sold separately) if you want to mount kayak carriers, cargo boxes, or other roof rack gear. It’s an easy way to build out your setup without replacing your rack every time your plans change.
Installing or maintaining your system shouldn’t slow you down. The kit includes a torque tool set for hassle-free assembly and upkeep. Wiring from mounted lights or powered accessories can be routed internally through the perimeter of the platform for clean cable management and reduced clutter. It’s a small detail that keeps your setup organized and ready for anything on your next trip.

I love this roof rack! Since I purchased it, I also purchased the eye bolts for the rack and have used them numerous times over the past year. I have been able to move many different things on top of the rack. At this point, Im looking at possible getting the side guards in the near future.

The rack is still doing great! No issues and the mounting system is holding up well even under some harsh off-roading conditions.
